Alison Smith, MEd

Alison is an Associate Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina-Aiken and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University. She spent a decade working in high schools as both a teacher and school counselor.


Alison believes the role of a counselor is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where each person can find purpose, self-compassion, and healing from life’s challenges. She provides trauma-informed therapy to teens (ages 16+) and adults with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance abuse. Alison is trained in EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, and DBT skills and incorporates a person-centered approach to working with each client. She specializes in working with veterans and educators.
